RESEARCH LOG - UNKNOWN SPECIMEN "Chiméra Variant?"

The specimen was first reported by patrol units stationed near the outer perimeter. Descriptions were taken as stress/sleep-deprivation-induced hallucinations - claims of a "mixed up beast" or even "bootleg of a monster from Greek Mythology, in a human-like appearance".
We found some traces. Not of one animal, but several.
Tracks resembling a large mammal were identified. Tracks resembling oversized lupine pawprints were found along the path the creature's been spotted. At first glance, they appeared consistent with a wolf, until we measured them.
Not far away, we noticed additional signs, deep claw marks carved into a tree, far higher than any wolf could reasonably reach.
One of the team swore they saw movement in the distance, just for a moment. He described a long, fluffy tail, thick at the base, tapering outward, swinging slowly behind the brush. Not feline, nor canine.
Bovine.
Further inspection revealed strands of hair caught on broken branches. Dense and thick. Mixed in a way that suggests not a coat, but a mane, long and heavy, similar of a mature lion. The colors were inconsistent, shifting between various colours that isn't seen on a lion.
This is not a case of misidentification.
Something is out there.
And it certainly does not belong to any known species.
