Well, seeing as the new job comes with a lot of slow time, I've finally decided to make something that is actually SCA approved armor.
Ring mail!
Currently, this is big enough to cover my shoulders, and part of my chest and back.
Current stats: 14g stainless steel (around 650ft of it too) hand-spun rings woven into a Japanese 12 in 1 pattern.
So far, it's a good 9 to 10 lbs and already someone has tried to stab it with a sword.
Shooting for a vest, but might add short sleeves, if I feel up to it.
Probably will end up on Ebay, if someone doesn't call dibbs for it first.
