Well, I guess fun fact about coyotes I learned recently to celebrate the occassion:
Apparently non-dominate (aka non-mating) females will go through full but false pregnancy cycles. Why, how? We don't know! The current guess is that its meant to make them more maternal towards their younger siblings. After that its a friggen mystery.

Despite confusion of species, at least coyotes seem to show up a bit. They seem reasonably well referenced in North America.
