Eighth and last of what I consider the Tessera "core" races, the Sotzil are loosely based on the Mayan 'camazotz' - about the only mythical bats I could find, but a fitting one, given that they're patterned after the Maya in the first place. They're also not very diverse, having gone through a bit of a bottleneck - their population at one point was down below 100. It's recovered admirably since then, though, and the Sotzil have taken their place on the world stage.
