In 2019, when I was just starting to earn some money from my painting, my parents took out a mortgage on a small 28 square meter apartment for me so I wouldn't spend money on rent but could invest in my future (thank them for that). Over the years, too much has happened in the world that has impacted my stability and income, but you, my clients and subscribers, are always there. I am immensely grateful for all the support and attention you've given me. I can live what I love thanks to your interest in what I create.
Seven years passed, and then my parents called me with good news. They had the opportunity and paid off the mortgage early, saving me 200,000 rubles. This means I can pay the remaining amount (700,000 rubles) directly to them, not the bank. This also means I don't have to worry about the bank foreclosing on my apartment every month, and I can breathe a sigh of relief (my parents aren't rushing me to pay back my debt; they did it so I could be much less stressed. Years of stress were taking a toll on my health).
Why am I telling you all this? It will affect what I want to focus on in the future. Right now, I plan to pause the paid subscription system and focus on finishing my entire backlog and one very old commission (Cullen, I think about him every day).
For clients, this means they'll receive their artwork in the next couple of months, and for my paid subscribers on Boosty and LavaTop, I'll write a separate post with a plan for what to do next. (Spoiler alert: I'm thinking about lowering the subscription price, but turning it into a lottery system, as it's proven difficult to draw 10 pieces every month.) I also plan to add traditional commissions to my price list in the future.
