shoutouts to furries decked in Xbox-themed outfits

ALRIGHT GAMERS TIME TO POST MY FURSONAAA! Ica, he's, uh, an "emo" (talk about vom amirite?) he's like a doll, I dress him up and change his design every time I post him, it started as me experimenting with his design but honestly I like his design details being flexible. This isn't even his main outfit lol, I just really like how this art came out so I used it as my pfp.
Anyways, Xbox! I love the aesthetic of Xbox, and the Xbox brand. But, you aren't a true Xbox fan if you don't openly ABSOLUTELY DESPISE Xbox right now, right? XD
I grew up on the kinect! So I love that era of Xbox. And am heavily nostalgic towards it. I got an Xbox one when I was 13 (a year before the s/x box came out) and that's still my go-to console. That was actually a pretty rough time for me so playing rare replay (particularly ghoulies and kameo) really cheered me up and I have a strong love for those games because of it. And I still play kinect games every now and again--My first post on this acc is actually r63 of a character from a kinect game lol
though, for the current Xbox brand, yeah, no, they're awful. I am so, SO pissed off about the layoffs. Genuinely the new perfect dark game and everwild would have been the only things to get me to actually have an interest in getting a series x. Despite the fact I don't care for perfect dark or open world games, I LOVE rare and their IP's, even post-buyout, especially post buyout actually. And laying off the same people who brought them so much of their identity, Sea of thieves, the Xbox avatars, Rare Replay, and all of their incredible other series/re-releases is so sad.
oh and Halo, I mean, who thinks its a good idea to, after making a renowned record breaking trilogy, make a new game with developers who don't even like the IP? How's that going to reflect onto the fans? And how do you even get into the gaming industry making FPS games and not like halo? Some series bad taste imo. And I mean--going for a new audience but still doing a numbered entry building off an entire trilogy? Are you dumb? Reach was definitely in the right direction. I've only played the first three campaigns and the multiplayer for all the games in MCC, but I am really curious about 4
lastly I'll bring up the series, it's literally just an Xbone with bigger specs. Like, the menu is the exact same (minus these really corporate transition animations) the controller has a single new button, the console doesn't add any new features, it's just the xbox.... again. And the console isn't sexy. Like, come on, the 360 had an hourglass, the og xbox was thicc, chunky boy.... And than we get office equipment Xbone onwards. Actually, nevermind another another point--I think, fundementally, Xbox's strategy for making games is so counter intuitive. They want to be more like Nintendo's success but Nintendo is smart with their releases, not every new game they make is a breath of the wild, or mario odyssey. A lot of them are smaller titles, Pokopia, princess peach showtime, and rereleases of older titles with some added content, ala bowsers fury. I really think they could learn from that for a release shedule. Like, can you imagine a smaller Halo title? They can talk the talk about going for new audiences with Halo, but what if they tried that Halo megabloks game they cancelled? Or a 3D platformer where you play as a jackall? A visual novel of the events of Halo 2/3 from a covenant elites perspective? Stardew valley, but you're a bunch of human/covenant on a stranded piece of a halo ring? I think there's so much potential for smaller games for both Halo and their other franchises that they really neglect. The only recent example of them doing this I can think of is Battle Toads, which I played a bit of but didn't really like sadly.

Welcome to FA. With a style this good, it won't be long before you're getting many eyeballs on your art gallery.
I've actually never owned an Xbox console. The last non-Nintendo console I owned was a PS2 (yeah, I'm very much a fan of Nintendo products, although I'll be the first to admit that they're not at all a likable company in how they handle business).
Love Ica's style (although I do hate to tell you that I see this as more of a goth aesthetic than emo) 😜

YAAAAAAYYYYY
Genuinely shocked to already be getting comments on my post this site is incredible so far, thank you!
Personally, with a few standout exceptions you aren't missing much on Xbox since most of its games released on PC--well, the second hand market is actually really good on most xbox games, you can get some amazing deals for some of the greatest games of all time (I think I got bioshock for like, 5 or 10$CAD?)
I love Nintendo! ESPECIALLY the 3DS! (I find it really goofy FA lets you display your 3DS/WiiU friend codes lol) I used to be obsessed with certain games like Yo-Kai watch 2 or PMD, I wish more consoles were like the 3DS with all its fun features. I do own a Switch but it doesnt dock anymore so I don't play it very often--But I have been trying to more because I've owned RE4 on it for awhile. What games do you play on Nintendo?
Yeah, I like drawing this scrungly a lot, GOOD POINT! I guess, especially with his very pale fur and makeup style he is a bit goth, I'm new to alt fashion in general and like to use him as a way to experiment with alt fashion, y'a know, without getting all that expensive clothes XD
Thank you so much for the comment!

It’s specifically the pants that I feel gives him a goth, rather than an emo, look (goths tend to wear wide-legged, flare-bottomed pants, while emos usually wear skinny jeans).
In terms of video games, I almost exclusively play handheld nowadays. This is why I got a Switch Lite instead of a regular Switch; I knew that if I got a regular Switch, I would just play it in handheld mode 99% of the time, anyway, so I just got the handheld-only Switch Lite for $100 less than the regular Switch costs.
I like playing games that I grew up playing. I’m a lot older than you are (born in the early 1980s, I’m a very early millennial, aka xennial), & I grew up as a kid/teenager in the 1990s. But, when it comes to newer games, I enjoyed playing Animal Crossing New Horizons a whole lot (that is my favorite game of the 21st century). I’m also a fan of beat em up games. Over the past year, I’ve racked up hundreds of hours playing games made by a French-Canadian game developer called Tribute, specifically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, Marvel Cosmic Invasion, & (most recently) Scott Pilgrim EX.
I always was, & still am, a console gamer. Never PC. My favorite console ever is Nintendo 64, & that probably has a lot to do with the fact that that was the console of my teenage years. Like I mentioned, I’ve always been partial to Nintendo consoles (although I will say that, during the 16-bit wars of the early-mid 1990s, I had a Sega Genesis, not an SNES).
I’ve always been drawn to “cutesy” games, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario, Rayman… and with some reason. As odd as it may seem to a Gen Zer like you (who grew up with the internet), when I was growing up, pretty much nobody was online, & the whole concept of “furries” wasn’t a generally known thing. Like, it was pretty much unknown by ANYONE, & it was certainly unknown by me. All I knew was that, for whatever reason, cute anthropomorphic animal video game characters like Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails the Fox, Mappy the Mouse, the Bubble Bobble dinosaurs, Yoshi, Banjo the bear, Croc, & the Star Fox 64 characters, all made me feel inexplicably warm & fuzzy inside 😊 whenever I saw them (this is not to mention the dozens of cartoons with anthropomorphic animal characters who made me feel that feeling, too). It wasn’t until the early 00s (when I was in my early 20s) that I finally discovered what “furries” were, & I immediately understood 😲 that that is exactly what I was all my life, but just didn’t have a name to give it before then.
Holy macaroni, this is a long reply. 😅 Sorry about that.

No you're all good! I love yapping lol, I mentioned this in my Skylanders post but I used to be like, super hyperfixated on 90's-2000's era games. Well, I still am obsessed with 2000's games but that's because that's where a lot of the good stuff was imo. Animal crossing and beat em ups? Amazing, I haven't played that many beat em ups (well--a lot of 2000s games had beat em up mechanics so I guess?) and I'm personally not the bigget cozy game guy, but great games!
LOVE MAPPY AND BUBBLE BOBBLE! I used to have this massive namco hyperfixation, Pac-Mania is my favourite game in that arcadey genre but I also had fun with Mappy and Dig Dug, would love to draw Fygar, Bub/Bob, or even the Mappy characters. Would love to play Star Fox 3D at some point, or adventures (as I mentioned in the desc, I love Rare--could go on another tangent about them lol)
pre-internet furry fandom fascinates me, or--even early internet furry fandom. Pretty much everyone knows what a furry is now, but it does say a lot about the indominable obsession with cartoon anthros that you don't need a community for the fixation to take form XD
"the geek critique" on YouTube is super interesting, although they aren't a furry to my knowledge they've been doing this sonic retrospective and they talk about it on the early internet, how the fandom was more dedicated to the cartoon rather than the game. The fandom has certainly come a long way!
