Griffin closes his eyes, and find himself in a dark void, face to face with the spirit of Anubis, who gives him two choices: give the god control, or fulfill his duties instead. "WHAT?? no! this is my body, you're the intruder!" he yells, which enrages Anubis, who gives the former human another taste of his power. his spiritual form warps to reflect his body, scaring Griffin into relenting. he finally accepts his fate as Anubis's Vessel, and Avatar... but there's just one last thing to do before he is ready....
