Based on a pen-and-marker original drawn on request for a “theme” sketchbook, this poster for a fictitious movie was completed in 2003, when I was still learning how to handle digital full-color original artwork. (There are many things I’d do differently now, needless to say.) The title is based on a phrase I came up with during the course of a discussion on bioengineering: if man is made in God’s image, then surely man’s creations must be considered the grandchildren of God. I’m an atheist myself, but I felt the phrase presented most strongly my feeling that the creation of life—or that created life itself—is not automatically evil. More important are the motivations behind that creation and how those created life forms are treated once they emerge into the world.
