This was my first artwork (2001) completed specifically as an art print for general production. Inspired by Dave White’s story “The Soloist” in issue twenty-four of Yarf!, it follows closely a military recruiting poster described in the narrative. The style, heavy outlines bounding simple blocks of color, is derived from similar posters and propaganda of the nineteen-twenties and -thirties.
