Well, this is embarrassing. All Godzilla had to do was go over and lightly slap his opponent across the face and the fight the fight is over before it even began. In retrospect, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to pit a giant monster who was taken down by regular military equipment against someone who’s fought countless opponents and has literally crawled out of Hell at one point. Oh well, at least Australia doesn’t have to worry about repairing any of their buildings now that the fight is officially over. That’s…something, I guess.
Yep. This was one of those “screw the audience” kind of jokes. You probably thought you were gonna get a fight that went on for several pages with tons of action and instead, you got a reimagining of that scene from Godzilla: Final Wars. I’m not gonna lie, I felt pretty cheeky coming up with this anti-climatic thud of an ending and my buddy Paw delivered the punchline beautifully with their artwork. Don’t worry though, the next time I decide to revisit this concept, you’ll get to see a proper kaiju bout.
Pawmageddon did the art on this. Go pay them money to draw more emotionally distraught lizards.

Also don’t take this as me hating the 1998 Godzilla movie. I don’t. It was my first real exposure to the idea of a giant monster movie as a kid. It’s a guilty-pleasure kind of movie that works if you separate it from the Godzilla franchise. I just thought it would be a funny concept to pit this edgy and tough-looking reimagining of a beloved character against the original and have him effortlessly defeated by a single slap across the cheek.
In my case, my first exposure to the king of the monsters, was through channel called Boomerang, was kinda popular back then on the 2000's. If i remember right, they used to stream an animated series of Godzilla, but don't remember the name of it. Also, a cousin of mine, used to have a fighting game with Godzilla and other kaijus. Don't remember the name of the game, but it was a game for Gamecube. So yeah, that's what i remember about my background with Godzilla xP
