Graphocephala fennahi, the Rhododendron leafhopper, so named since it feeds off'f the sap of rhododendrons.
I always love how much I learn while engaging in this hobby. Just a week or so ago, I noticed these little things that I'd never seen before flitting around the rhododendrons in my parents' yard, and I had no clue what they were. A simple google of insects + rhododendron later, I had my answer. Apparently not such a common bug over here - a native American species, it wasn't introduced to continental Europe until the 70's, and the first reported sighting in Sweden was in 2007. And now my mother's plants have been invaded.
...Well. When the invasion forces are this colourful and gorgeous, I don't complain.
