This is a big F.U. to Mother Nature! I, hubby and other family are still here, and so are many friends and acquaintances, despite a huge effort to wash us all away down stream into the ocean!
To sum up... Friday the 13th of March 2026 gave the entire state of Hawaii a brutal flooding with heavy winds to rival a Cat-1 or 2 hurricane. My old home island of Oahu got absolutely crushed by this weather event, and so was my new home island of Maui. I've been though many Hurricanes and Tropical Storms before, going way back to Eva and Iniki, but this thing.... this Sub Tropical Cyclone on Friday the 13th is the worst thing I've been through!
To give perspective, imagine a cat-1 hurricane that lasts 48 to 50 hours... in the same spot WITHOUT MOVING... That's 1/4th the size of the entire Pacific Ocean...
Frankly I don't want to see something like this ever again! I felt like a drowned rat having to begin cleanup around the home...
Nature is a bitch at times, and I guess you need to be one too, in order to survive.

Rain is good for Hawaii! It makes the pineapples grow! (Yes, I know Hawaii doesn't grow that many any more -- the real estate is better used for other things).
Almost-drowned rat! We've been getting pounded with a bad 🫏 rainstorm here on the East Coast, too. 3" - 4" with 15 - 20 mph gusts of wind. I've got minor seepage in the basement. Darned glad I'm not walking security patrols tonight!
