This day I went to see "One Battle After Another" from Paul Thomas Anderson
Funnily enough, I had seen trailers for the movie and had no real interest in it, until someone recommended it to me, and told me I really had to take the chance of it being in theaters and go watch it there.
So on I went, doubting my decision all the way through. Even while sitting at the cinema right before the movie began I was wondering whether i should've come to watch it, since it was such a big time commitment. And boy did the movie prove itself.
From the very first frame, this movie HOOKED me. I think in part because of the soundtrack. But the movie's tone was instantly captivating
I was surprised to see how strong this movie was in all film making aspects: story, plot, characters, emotional core, humour and comedic timing, dialogue, cinematography, editing, soundtrack.
All of it standouts, all done so SO well!! It's rare to see a movie so well done and so fresh in its execution
drew one of the main characters, Pat Calhoun, having a call on a payphone with the secret revolutionary society which he used to be a part of 16 years ago
