Avian Dragons concept art
AVIAN DRAGONS (first written & illustrated concept)
I have much to learn about them. I used to think Yarubi was the only one of her kind, then Azareth came into the picture, then I started getting the sense that there had been others. I won't go into specific details as it'd be a major spoiler for the comic.
These are just concepts. They seem to be a sort of "hybrid" between the avian species and certain celestial dragons who enthusiastically collaborated with them. They were a passion project, meant to promote life and mastery. They are a highly intelligent and pacific lot, graceful and positive, "born" without much wisdom initially, but capable of learning through experience and developing curiosity over time. There's a lot I could say but I'll keep it general, I don't really know much at this stage.
They are predominantly white with beautiful feathered crests and tails, which range from hues of violets, pinks, blues and sometimes golden. Not much else in terms of genetic variety save for perhaps height & horn differences. Mainly bipedal but perfectly capable of quadruped movement. Although most beings in the setting have basic shapeshifting abilities, they are born with a boost in shapeshifting and other abilities featured in dragons and dragon magic, because of their dragon heritage.
They lean more into "Ether" element and not specific elements like fire, water, air, etc, although they have natural affinities for Air because of their Avian heritage, they are capable of learning a little bit of everything, they have challenges with Earth as an element due to their lack of grounding.
They like to dress in fine garments, robes and jewelry, mostly when "working" (they choose roles and responsibilities which they represent through specific garments) and they tend to be social with one another. They get along well with Avians and dragons alike, and are sometimes considered to be more dragons than Avians due to their dominating dragon magic influence.
