Zero gravity, automation, all the fast food you can get? Space life is perfect for reaching truly impressive levels of fatness. I wouldn't be surprised if after a year or two of such living, the hyena had to refit one hangar into the command deck, just to accommodate his immobile bulk, jiggling like an enormous droplet free from the constraints of gravity.
