Something small today - does any other traditional artist get the equivalent of "Torschusspanik"? Basically I have alot of lined artworks that I've been meaning to colour for weeks now and I can just not bring myself to do it. What if I end up not liking the colours? What if I mess up? What if something goes wrong? Since it's traditional and there's no "control+z", meaning there is no going back on any line you draw with your marker... Your only option is to completely start over and/or curl up and cry - which I've kinda been feeling like doing lately X')
Anyway have this sketch from 2021 that I dug up and coloured because I felt like if I failed colouring this it wouldn't be as bad as ruining my other, current wips - please send help 🙃

Psst. It's TorschLusspanik, not Torschusspanik :P
The panic is referring to a closing door, not to scoring a goal ^^
Makes more sense in the context as well as the word describes the fear of being too late or missing the optimal time for something important --> The door closes, the opportunity is gone.
I have an idea for you though, what if you scan those lineworks first, do like a bit of a trial coloring digitally using that scan, and if you like it you can then transfer it to paper? It doesn't have to be detailed, it can be sort of a rough "sketch coloring", but maybe it'll take some fear off you?

The one time I don't double-check my spelling... agh XD Thank you for pointing that out to me though, will do my research proper next time!
Scoring a goal can be scary too! Kidding, but panic and a decent amount of overthinking describes it well X')
The method you're describing is something I actually do for bigger commissions, but I never thought of treating myself to a digital-precolour for my personal artworks before. It might help - I just have to force myself to actually set up my tablet. Thank you for the advice! Btw I hope life has been treating you kindly 💙
