Izzi's galloping heart pounded in his aching chest, speedily darting through dense forestry, attempting to break line of sight with the perilous creature in hot pursuit of his newfound prey. His body coursed with adrenaline, the chemicals pumping through him and shooting out from his core to his fingertips.
The deciduous tree clearing left much to be desired in the way of places to hide— inducing quite a bit of primordial fear within Izzi's mind. The only logical thing to do was to hide in the vegetation of the trees above, right? Early spring brought a great deal of greenery to this otherwise barren region of the forest..
Izzi tried to hide atop of one of the tallest branches of a nearby tree in absolute silence— clinging to the cold bark, covering his mouth, out of earshot, and just outside of the conical vision of the predator. It was only then that he got a real good look at him; clad in white and red fur, pale grey scales, and piercing cyan eyes.
The raptor looked around, sighed as though frustrated, and strutted up to said tree, feigning ignorance of Izzi's whereabouts, before smugly baring his fangs and thumping the trunk of the tree with his tail. Izzi lost his feeble grip upon the branch and dangled there, holding on as tightly as he could, dizzy and exhausted from running for his life..
Thankfully, a supple, rather balmy, gaping maw yawned just beneath him— positioned perfectly to capture Izzi's helpless form— disbelief setting in as Izzi gauged the sheer gravity of the situation. "No.. NO.. NO! Gosh—" His interjections were cut short as his tail was pulled down and his hold of the branch faltered, freefalling into the embrace of that abyssal gullet, and in a singular, skillful, nonchalant motion— glrk.~
Izzi muffledly resisted, pushing out on the raptor's impromptu crop, holding Izzi in relative stasis— mostly from a lack of subsequent swallows— this predator wanted to enjoy this~
Izzi's own body weight in combination with the natural peristalsis of the raptor's esophagus carried Izzi further along, confining him in particularly slick, slimy guts, reminiscent of muggy summer heat and tropical humidity.
It smelled of berries. It was rather soothing, despite being so proficient in laying absolute and inalienable claim to any prey, especially this one.
Izzi hadn't any strength left to fight back, to call for help, brewing lingering despair that fades into total acceptance of his fate. The stomach appreciated his contribution as the raptor returned to his den with his prize stored in tow.~
