Sarabi and Scar were childhood friends who’d drifted apart. Their friendship began anew as they supported each other through their grief. As Scar threw the Pridelands into turmoil, Sarabi became desperate to change him, and their bond grew into a manipulative, painful relationship that flipped between desire and hatred. Each saw the other as a threat, and remained close in an attempt to regain control. By the end of his reign, any rekindled affection Sarabi had for Scar had been extinguished.

Little did she know that she was pregnant with his daughter. Urembo was born after Scar’s death, and she was a painful memory of Scar’s tyrannical legacy. But more than that, she was a hopeful sign that the next generation would grow beyond the mad king’s influence, and provided Sarabi a second chance at raising her cub in peace.

Urembo was a spunky, outspoken little girl, and lived in relative peace in the Pridelands. Although she was friends with Kiara and the other young cubs in Milele, her true best friend was Babu, a shy little cub from a traveling pride. When they got together, Urembo’s impulsiveness and Babu’s endless curiosity were bound to cause chaos amongst the greater ecological community, and so their families agreed that it was better to keep them apart.

But despite their parents’ best efforts, the pair only grew closer, and a childhood friendship evolved into love! She is now an adult raising a child in a pride of her own, but some things never change. Urembo still always says exactly what’s on her mind, and ever-easily-enticed Babu usually agrees.
