Daughter to Lady Ham-Ham and King Avis Brightwing, Jamu became the symbol of a Golden Age for the citizens of Bennet, as it came just as the country had finally healed from the wounds that centuries of tyrannical rule wrought upon it.
Naturally, Avis and Ham-Ham did all they could to ensure Jamu would follow in their footsteps by teaching her in the arts of combat and diplomacy to ensure she would follow in their footsteps by becoming the nation’s finest ruler to have ever sat upon the throne.
As the years went on, Jamu became more-and-more beloved by the people of Bennet. Her tours of the country inspired everyone in every town as they knew that, in Avis’ passing, their nation would still prosper with a Queen at its helm who genuinely cared for the people and would look out for them rather than just herself and a select few.
Sadly, though, the hope of the nation was shattered a mere week after Jamu’s 17th birthday. It was at this time that their beloved Queen, Lady Ham-Ham, passed away.
Jamu was devastated. However, there was something about how her heartbroken father kept saying and implying that it was his fault that truly troubled and morally crushed the once jubilant hamster.
Worried for her father, Jamu did all she could do to be positive as they grieved over the loss of Ham-Ham. However, over time, she couldn’t help but notice the apologetic look of guilt he always seemed to give when they would spend time together.
One faithful night, Jamu was awakened by the sound of her father crying out in anguish. When she came to his room, she saw that Master Healer, Berto, was there. He was doing his best to comfort her father while speaking about something that had happened over twenty years ago and how it wasn’t her father’s fault.
Upon being spotted at the door, Berto invited Jamu to join them. It was at this time that Avis, with sorrow in his eyes, told Jamu the truth behind her mother’s sudden death. This, of course, being the great sacrifice of life that she made to protect him from the forces of evil that he himself conjured in a thoughtless attempt to renew the nation.
The news filled Jamu with so much emotion that she spared not a word in cursing her father for what he had done. To all this, Avis could say nothing as he had no defense other than a face full of tears as he pleaded for forgiveness.
Berto did his best to help calm the rage that was brewing within Jamu’s heart. Unfortunately, there was no stopping what had been started. So, after cursing her father out even more for his selfishness, she stormed out the door.
Determined to not let anything of her mother’s be in the hands of her treacherous father, Jamu made her way to Ham-Ham’s old room, equipped all her gear, stuffed any notable artifact of hers into a bag, and left the castle without so much as a word to anybody.
On her way out of the castle, she saddled up her horse and rode off into the night. All the while anguishing over what she had just learned and trying to understand why her mother could’ve ever done what she did, let alone fall in love, with such a horrible man.

;n; I was so happy when I started reading, but now I'm horribly depressed.
Lol, no offense, though! That was great! It's so awful though...that what Avis did will never stop haunting him. I just hope Jamu realizes that what's done is done, and people make mistakes all the time. The best to do is forgive. :P

Actually, truth-be-told, I was going to suggest to you how to make the ending the happy one it is meant to be. After all, when have you known me to ever not have a happy ending? :)
See, my idea anyway, is that Jamu goes out into the world and, in her travels, meets someone to whom she bonds with very closely. It is in meeting, befriending, and falling in love with this special someone in her life that makes her realize why her mother did what she did and, ultimately, foregive her father for everything.
The ultimate end would be, in a period of a few years, Jamu would return with her love to a most delighted Avis who would not only be loved by his daughter once more, but know she has found someone to share her life, and throne, with. Therefore, when he does pass, the land of Bennet will continue to thrive as Jamu, in learning what her mom always knew, is able to respect the gift of life and just how powerful love for another can be. :)
So, if you ever wish to a do a doodle for funs, I would be honored if you'd find a way of depicting how the "happy ending" here comes to pass. Capture that magical moment of warmth, foregiveness, love, or understanding. The door is wide open for you to capture whatever time in this story you wish to draw Jamu and how you'd like to draw her, should you choose to partake in this little project. :)
