So, many years ago I stumbled across a little online flash game called 'MechQuest' by Artix Entertainment. It was a small company that grew over the years (though the founder still seems to have moments of 'I hope I don't wake up and find this was all a dream'). Over the years they added more games, such as DragonFable (which was a more direct spinoff of their original AdventureQuest), and started doing events where they'd record voice tracks and play them in-game: voice actor George Lowe (Space Ghost, Coast to Coast, among several other roles) did multiple events with them. Eventually they moved onto doing a full MMO, with AdventureQuest Worlds (which was still in Flash 2D animation), and then they ran a Kickstarter for a 3D version which would actually be multi-platform, as a game on Steam and a mobile game on Android and iOS as well. I bought one of the higher end slots there and managed to get Sara in as a character in the game, along with her black marble hammer Blackchannel. In fact it was in the discussion for this character design that I finalized the idea of Blackchannel as a mystic hammer. Had to be human, but could still go with the 'skunk stripe' in the hair, at least.
(One of the main developers represented himself in-game by a character called Cysero, a mad mage-smith; needless to say he was very happy at the idea of somebody else with a mad scientist/smith character. I think all of the devs show up in-game and have fun with it; it's that sort of company.)
Unfortunately I sort of drifted away from the games after a while due to everything else going on. I got reminded to post this now because they're running another Kickstarter for 'AdventureQuest Worlds: Infinity' where they're trying to take their first MMO and finally disentangle it entirely from its Flash roots and move it to a platform with more of a future, along with being able to give it the same sort of multi-platform support that AQ3D has. The custom item/character slots sold out too fast for me to get one this time, sadly.
