The pair of boots my wife owns are more similar I think. They are much bigger with more zips and a skull on them.

I used to wear a pair of 16" black leather engineer boots with chrome hardware. To make them look more Mad Max-like, I put chain harnesses on them, and I buckled them forward and inward so the straps contradicted the straps on the boots.
