And this is Aanuria, who is the goddess of the planet of the same name. She's a bit like the Gaia figure in that world, embodying the world itself and all life there. Messing with her, or harming her in any way, has a negative effect on the planet. And right now she's being held against her will in a prison of ice and psychologically tortured into loosing her sense of hope. Thus in the world outside, a huge ice age is going on and depression is at an all time high.

Thus the DnD party that decides to involve themselves is aiming to free her, and thus free the planet from the 5000 years of winter that's been happening. Occasionally I've been having the party members get dreams and visions from her, updating them on her status, and also giving them the chance to tell her they plan on rescuing her and to not lose hope.
