so occasionally, nintendo released special skins that the 3ds's came in for special events, like there's Zelda themed ones, a bright yellow Pikachu one, etc. if i had to guess that was released when they did the mini super nintendo with the pre-selected games on it as a promotional item. as for the value the unit itself is worth a lot if it's in good working condition because the console is still popular even after they stopped making them. i suggest checking things like e-bay, facebook market, craigslist oter, for similar ones to see what they're selling for
