"The Pine Breeze Recordings" Jubilee Records, JCA-1003, 2005. Recorded in Chattanooga, Tennessee, between 1975 and 1981.

The Pine Breeze Center in Chattanooga, TN was a mental health facility for teenagers. In the late 70s Ron Williams sent those kids out with a tape recorder to ask older people to sing and play music for them.

These recordings ended up a treasure trove of folk music which would otherwise have been lost forever.

I know folk music (and my music tastes in general) are very niche. But I felt like making a post about this CD because I find the story of how these field recordings came to be pretty heart-warming.
