I was asked what my favorite "retreat" was today in my English class. The generic answer would of had been a country summer home in the North East with a wonderful view of the ocean fanning out into the sunset. I glanced down at my paper and put "Winter."
This word has more than a simple meaning. It has depth. It's what I thrive to see during the ending months of the year, It's what I would run out of my bed to see, like a child on an early Christmas morning. That light, fluffy cotton like blanket that covers the city in abundance, It's a wonderful experience. Stepping out to hear that small crunch, of snowflakes under my shoes, the first breath of crisp chilled air only letting out the smoke which dissolves in the air seconds later. You feel surrounded by alleviation not only by your winter clothing, fleece, wool, freshly knitted caps, but by the Icy blue hue that covers the mid-winter sky. This season touches my emotions. Something that's very difficult to do.
I'm proud to be a winter Baby. <3
