Another of my thrillingly descriptive titles today! Here we see one adult and two juvenile Great Crested Grebes (Podiceps cristatus) swimming around on Trimpley Reservoir in north Worcestershire. Despite being August Bank Holiday, it was freezing cold (well, 15 °C, but that is cold for August!) so it was nice to actually see some waterfowl on the, er, water. The youngsters in particular are very cute with those zebra-striped heads. =:)
