Long before he became who he was, Priest Tiburón was a poor young vagrant named Héctor Villatorro. Despite living in an area stricken by poverty and rampant crime, the shark never wavered in his faith. He would always attend his local church to seek spiritual guidance. After years of praying for a purpose to his life, he was overwhelmed by what he believed to be an otherworldly presence that he knew in his heart was God. Héctor heard a voice telling him that he would be granted immense power that he would use in the name of holy justice. When the light disappeared, the shark could feel an immediate difference in his body and soul, making him tear up from overwhelming emotions he felt. Now armed with a purpose, the young man sought to prove his worthiness to his Lord. He began by attempting to take down some of his town's local gang bangers. The first group on his list used to terrorize his section of town regularly and even assaulted anyone they felt like, including the young man. Finding their usual hangout spot, Héctor kicked down the door and fought everyone inside. The whole time he did, he could feel his dormant muscles fill with strength he had never felt before, thoroughly enjoying the sensation that they gave off. By the time he was done, every member inside was left broken, bleeding, and unconscious on the ground. The shark was covered in wounds himself, but the fire in his soul helped him to deal with the pain. As night enveloped the region, Héctor left the building and began his tired yet triumphant walk back home. At some point, he took a break underneath a streetlamp to gather his thoughts. At last, he had finally made a difference in the world. A higher power had bestowed him with the potential to achieve strength beyond mortal limits. The shark laughed through his pain as he knew that this was just the beginning. Wiping the blood from his face, Héctor decided to take a quick trip back to his church, wanting to confess to his Lord the events of the night. But more than that, he planned on starting up a good workout routine that weekend.
