So, Queenston (http://queenston.tumblr.com/)was running a contest to design coverart for an upcoming EP ((http://lapfox.bandcamp.com/album/grey-goo-scenario) BUY IT) with a cash prize, and I'll do anything if money's involved.
I tried to capture how the heavy beats contrast with the fresh melodies. I wanted to do something with the guitar samples too, but I'm terrible at subtlety.
I was pretty sure I wouldn't win, but it was a good excuse to draw an interesting character and play with lighting.
I'm actually really happy with it. I'm not so pleased with the lighting, but I've been staring at it for >8 hours, and I can't figure out exactly how it's supposed to look any more.
Poor Adraen. He's not the stealthiest of guys.
