Gavin x Alexander - A Tavern's Taste - by interkos
What seemed a simple tavern in a small village along a trading route had no right to house the best flavors in the region. First choice of grains and supplies coming through before reaching the big cities had it's own advantages while the mix of goods brought the perfect blend needed. With good hunting and foraging nearby only adding to it each meal gave cause alone for the creation of that town. The ale only offered through the barrels tapped in that tavern brought even nobles through on trips to visit.
A lucrative place for a bard. People, drinks, and the flow of coin all giving opportunity. Thought for Alex there was an intense flavor that others didn't discover so easily. Hours and drinks dragging on even as patrons and visitors left to their spaces there was only the tavern keeper left. A strange mix of bird and beast of some kind that wouldn't so easily fit into society. Out here there was no one to judge with just one place worth staying the night.
Those burning eyes caught on them through the night were impossible to ignore as the hunger in them was only tamed by the polite smile and friendliness of the owner. Were the drinks served for song or something more? The question asked more openly than intended earned an answer. Such a poetic mind and it all would go blank so quickly with that man's wordless reply. Leaving only the small muffled noises and body tensing in that excitement before any chance of speaking was cut off along with his breath.
He found his room for the night...
