So some of you know about my trip to NostalgiaCon in New Orleans back in November and good of a time I had. It all started when I had thoughts about meeting Lisa Ortiz (who is still my favorite voice actress for Amy Rose; she voiced her throughout the 2000s). After looking at what conventions she was attending in 2025, I soon started planning a trip to NostalgiaCon. As the convention grew near, I learned that Colleen O'Shaughnessey (the voices of Tails and Zooey) and Amy Birnbaum (who voiced Cosmo) were going to be there, I was very excited!
Nevertheless, a threat was looming that could've very easily altered how I got to New Orleans. I was planning on flying there, but the government shutdown forced many airlines to cancel some of their flights. Having taken five days off of work, I was not about to accept spending those five days listening to propaganda when I had other plans. Thankfully, my flight was not among the unlucky ones, and I went on to have a way past cool time at the convention. Meeting Lisa Ortiz, Amy Birnbaum, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey really felt like meeting some of my favorite Sonic characters face to face, but they weren't the only ones. I brought a Sonic board game with me and many other Sonic voice actors such as Dan Green (Knuckles), Kirk Thornton (Shadow), Michael Yurchak (Jet), and even Tony Salerno (Chip) signed it! As for Ortiz, Birnbaum, and Colleen O'Shaughnessey, they signed works done by a fellow artist (being kept anonymous for the time being) for me along with Lisa and other OC's of mine. The cherry on top was Birnbaum giving me a Cosmo keychain in honor of supporting Cosmo! I would get more signatures from other folks who helped shape my childhood such as Sam Vincent (Sonic's singing voice in Sonic Underground but best known as the voice of Double D in Ed, Edd n Eddy).
So for my 36th birthday, from left to right, Amy, Cosmo, Zooey, Billy, and Seraph Lisa, all smiles, show off the pictures signed by Ortiz, Birnbaum, and Colleen along with the Sonic board game (bottom left), and my Cosmo keychain (seen with my Wheel of Fortune Live Play game at the bottom right).
