On February 21st, 2026, Willie Colón, one of the greatest salsa compositors passed away. I didn't listen to all of his music, but adored several of his songs, they were catchy in a way that one's spine felt electricity being charged there.
This is a remembrance of "El gran varón", from 1989. It's not my favorite song, it's a little bit cliché, but it's the one everybody will recognize. My favorite ones are "Mi sueño" (1981) and "Sin poderte hablar" (1979).
