Possible lore for Lux:

The cleavage on Lux's body are considered to be a "curse" or a mark of the God that is not accepted in the pantheon in the world they live in. Creatures carrying those cleavages are considered renegades and refered to as "leper" in the world. There's a community that accepts the God associated with it and same community believes for those marks to be a blessing and is believed to be a sign that the person will enter the afterlife as a chosen by that god.

Lux is not a part of it and never accepted that view either. For them the "mark" is something that stripped them of a normal life. The followers of main pantheon capture those who are marked and hold them for studying purposes or public torture. Lux was captured for several years and kept in one of the Altars in the city.

Cleavages make creatures more durable and harder to kill. They do not have faster regenration, but are unable to die due to blood loss and can withstand great amounts of pain without falling unconcious. Regeneration is still painful and goes like usual, but more often than not it protects the host from infection.

Despites it making creatures more durable they also shorten their lifespan. The cleavages are constantly growing and most of the creatures can handle only 40% of it covering them. Rare cases include those who survived with 70% ruptures and were able to function to a degree. Most of them were losing ability to speak, hear, see or remember things as well as having difficulty controlling the body.

The cleavage adapts to the body of the host and helps keep it alive producing compatible cells, but after taking over 50% of it it starts replacing everything and renders the host to a catatonic state. After a while the body desintegrates. It is unknown if at the time that happen host is concious or not.
