In latin america there was a stupid urban legend that said the creator of Hello Kitty made a deal with the devil, and that "Hello Kitty" actually meant "hello devil". I never believed that, because I knew that kitty just meant "gatito" in english, but some classmates tried to convince me that it meant "devil" in chinese (when Hello Kitty is actually japanese xD)
I swear it's always some shit coming backt o like "Oh it's the devil" or some shit like yeah okay I think jsut growing up very nonreligious this sort of thing always makes me scoff or confused. I also feel liek taht "devil" in chinese is just that "jigglypuff translate to devil" from that one pastor or wahtever which also to me just reads as literally just-

Lol I didn't know there was a pastor that said jigglypuff also meant devil, but I shouldn't be surprised. And yeah there's obviously a lot of racism behind those ideas; I remember how they made fun of that in Moral Orel saying stuff like anything that comes from other (non christian) cultures is evil and scary.
