I FINALLY HAVE A FURSONA!! (Giraffe) by MsDinoGoat
November 25th, 2020 was the date my first TF commission was completed, the start of my journey with directly engaging in the TF and furry space. Since then, I've worked with a lot of people, created a lot of ideas, adopted a handful of OCs, and developed a sona or two. But in all that time, I surprisingly lacked one particular thing that several people in this space have... until NOW.
Thanks to the amazing artist MsDinoGoat, I HAVE MY OWN GIRAFFE FURSONA AT LAST!!
Giraffes have been my favorite animal since childhood, and the idea of a giraffe sona design finally struck me last year. I doodled up and gradually edited the concept for months, got the chance to work with the artist, and refined the reference sheet details with her across multiple WIPs. I'm exceptionally pleased with the end result, and I'm dying to see myself represented in future art pieces as this new fursona!
BONUS DETAILS:
- NECK: I can freely extend and retract my neck at will! Extending it to be 0-3 feet long, I can "set it and forget it", leaving it that long with no further effort. If I make it longer than that, whether by one foot or one mile (or more!), there's no pain or strain in doing so, but KEEPING it that long requires a small amount of focus.
- HEIGHT: My non-extended height is 6'3" (190.5cm), from the ground to the top of my head (NOT including the extra height of my horns, which are 5 inches tall).
- HAIR LENGTH: At normal neck length, my hair drops about 9-10 inches below the tops of my shoulders.
- FUR: My fur is a very light purple color, which I lovingly refer to as "lavender" fur! It borders on being pure-white, but don't be fooled. Only the fronts of my hands, plus the fluff on my chest, are white!
- CHEST: I have a cozy patch of white fluff on my chest! It doesn't protrude more than an inch or two out, but it still feels padded and comfy to the touch.
- FINGERS: The ends of my fingers are shaped about the same as normal anthro fingers, but they're actually the same material as hooves! They're not inconvenient, and I do love clopping them against hard surfaces sometimes. That said, I can also transform them between hoof-tips and typical soft-fur tips at will! When I do so, my fingertips remain the same black color, but with fur instead of keratin~
- SPOTS/PATTERN: My reddish-brown spots have no distinct pattern, aside from their general size. They run all along the back of my neck, on the back of my torso, and along the tops of my arms.
- NOSE: No, you aren't crazy... I've got no nose! It was a stylistic decision born from an accidental oversight on my part, but the artist and I agree it looks cute like this! (I won't complain if an artist draws a nose on anyway; something like simple angled nostrils \/ would work.)
- HOODIE: My hoodie is a bit special, having a little bit of cooling magic in it! While wearing it, it'll keep me within a comfortable chill/cool temperature range, regardless of the weather! As for wearing it, in terms of style, I prefer to keep it in this nearly-unzipped state. However, I'm fine with zipping it up completely for the sake of function, or taking it off as desired. The purple shirt beneath the hoodie has 7 Grand Stars on it, and has short sleeves.
- BANDANA: My bandana is based on the asexual flag! In my time online in the 2020s, it's become clear to me that I'm somewhere in the asexual space (and perhaps aromantic too?). I still have yet to pin down the precise "ace" I am, but hopefully the general asexual flag is a good representation of me!
- GENDER: I'm biologically male (without the naughty bits) and generally identify as such. However, due to interactions with online friends, as well as strangers frequently mistaking me for a woman (maybe it's the long hair?), I'm a little loose with my personal gender identification now (at least online). I like to think of it as "male, with a splash of female and/or genderfluid"!
- LEGS & STANCE: My legs are about 1.5x longer than standard human legs (proportionally to the body)! My feet are hoof-tipped & can freely change to furry tips like my fingertips, but I opt to keep them hoofed nearly 24/7. Despite my legs & shoes being very humanoid, my stance is effectively digitigrade! The skeletal structure down there results in me walking on my toes with my heels up.
- PAW PADS: I have two paw pads on each foot, one right behind my toes and one beneath my heel! They only protrude out from my feet a very short distance, but it's enough that my feet have natural padding to prevent fatigue from long days of walking.
Extremely happy with how I turned out here, and I hope I get to represent myself with this form a ton <3

(P.S. If you read this far, have a bonus fun fact:
On very rare occasions, my neck can instinctively shoot outward on its own. This only happens in cases of sudden intense surprise, such as if I'm tackle-hugged from behind.)
