Back at it with some more VV-verse OCs built for ChaosCroc's anthro hero setting, but I'm making this one an 'ensemble' piece because all of these ladies are playing more supplementary roles in the setting, not quite standalone protagonist types.
Angela Ennis plays a bit of a J. Jonah Jameson-like role, adapted for the modern day with some commentary on bad-faith pseudo-news reporter wannabes thrown in there for good measure. She may look like (and sometimes even play into the tropes of) a vapid blonde, but she's much more savvy in conversation and rhetorical strategies than she looks... and boy, does she ever know how to use that skillset in taking down the various registered heroes & vigilantes who (in her mind) cause only chaos and problems for the average hard-working civilian of Mercia. She had her car get smashed up once in the collateral of a hero-villain fight, and she's never let that go since...
Emily's probably the most supplementary of these supplementary characters; basically just took the vixen from my previous Mtech uniforms sheet and made her a distinct individual. I like to think of her as an analogue to the waitress Beth in early Avengers films; a normal civilian who gets caught up in a lot of the superhero shenanigans going on in her city, but she doesn't blame them for just doing their jobs.
Although she would like more days off to make up for the amount of times she's been kidnapped by a villain, I'd imagine... probably just spends the days off playing Fighting Fantasy XIV or something.
Lastly, there's Warden Helga Aardsman, the main guard for the 'Purgatorio' correctional facility that houses various supervillains in Key Lime. She helps supplement Ataraxia with the physical strength that her boss lacks, incapacitating & restraining prisoners to make them easy targets for re-education... and even on her own, Helga can temporarily influence others through her Meta power to turn people into copies of her with similar strength & skills. Helps with enforcing order inside a prison of often-superpowered individuals when you can make more of yourself to deploy across other areas, even if her 'Collaring Chain' power can only have up to two copies of herself at once. (Example art of this power is drawn by SpyralPyra!) She also carries a stun phaser, twin escrima batons, & high-durability handcuffs as standard gear to neutralize criminals in a nonlethal but effective way.
Once upon a time the dober(wo)man had a much more fiery temper & anti-authority stance, but prolonged sessions of rehabilitation under Dr. Cykes made her turn her life around, with anger management courses & funneling her emotions into trained martial arts paving the way to Helga becoming the SOS soldier you see now. I like to think she's not just a supplement to Cykes, but an example for what Ataraxia's success stories can look like- relatively 'normal' individuals with affable, helpful demeanors, but like a Stepford Wife there's just something a little bit vacant in their eyes if you look close... something that can feel a little eerie when you spend time around her.

That’s the, ah, “joke” for lack of a better term with Angela; she’s very specifically based on the ”Blonde Republican Sex Kitten” trope along with… certain press secretaries in the current administration. *cough cough K.L. cough*
She’s not really a reporter, she’s a rhetorician. One with a very specific lens of viewing the world that can only see the collateral damage of hero-villain fights, and not how much worse things could be if villains were to run unopposed… sure, there are SOME heroes in VV-verse that can be disaster cases, but it doesn’t describe the whole. Unfortunately, she’s too hung up on her own grievances to see that, and so she’ll press the same issue over and over and do her best to frame every new story to fit that narrative until everyone else believes it.

Thank you! I’ve mentioned this before with Mobians, but anthros too can offer a lot of potential for exaggerating body shapes & physiques to expand your design language. I want to eventually do the same with humans in my art, but for now I’m pleased to know how much folks love the designs as they are. ^^
