Mario Tennis (for N64 back in 2000) is what genuinely got my older brother and I into Tennis IRL.

(never cared about watching professional Tennis. But we played Tennis at our local park for fun in Spring and b Summer once every 2 weeks or so)

I still have our old N64 console and game cartridge, and they both still work just fine to this day! ^_^ Bowser has always been my favorite Super Mario character. <3 the game looks fun. what is there an option to just simply play standard tennis without any of the special effects or power ups?

You can indeed turn off the gimmicks in the new game if you prefer classic, old-school tennis. I certainly prefer it that way too!
