Placebo, though I made some additions with permission.
Here it is in the flesh, one of my personal favorite characters in the Bolycule: Cameron! As a rarely anthropomorphized species, a sturgeon was never going to be an easy design to make, and that's before the complicating factor of its build. Huge props to Placebo for not only taking it on, but putting up with my highly specific requests throughout the process. I have no doubt it was among the hardest characters to visualize for many of you, so it's very nice to finally have a visual touchstone for our favorite fat fish!
Placebo's great, btw. You should go check out their original upload here!

Horaaay! It's great to now have a proper visual for Cam.
It's always been a mixed bag of visual media vs written for me. Oftentimes, having read the book first, a movie based off it can feel lacking. And even though books tie in to the imagination, I tend to find myself latching onto some visual base to picture what I'm reading.
To that end, I'm really happy to have been able to help with Cameron, here. It has been, like you said, one of the more complicated characters in the Bolycule to fully picture in my head while reading your work. Tying its look together with you has been a fun process!

OH! I guess I get the joke now!
I really didn't think that its face would be able to convey so much appeal with how I was imagining it, but I guess I've been (really) pleasantly surprised! I honestly am super charmed by how its face ended up getting portrayed; I really like how the little barbells ended up, I've always liked the idea of them while picturing it.
(also damn you spell check, why can't you just be woke. messing up my sentence structure like 3 times)

Yeah! When I read your comment on the Bol post, Travertine and I were already confirming some of the final touches for Cam's design. It was too perfect that you mentioned it specifically!
I'm so glad to hear you like the face design! It was definitely a challenge to figure out how to manage its mix of realistic sturgeon features. And as for the colour swatch belly, I ought to have done a little more exaggeration with it, but I'm stoked you noticed.

I am a big tail enjoyer, what can I say? More so than most anthros, it's really important for a fish to have a really solid tail. It has to sell the whole thing!
And yeah, pointy head haver. Sturgeon are related to paddlefish, and it shows. Catfish are fun too, but I just really like sturgeon, haha
