The people of Kalamitys write with an alphabet that has 30 characters. Most of the literate population is in the southern hemisphere. The letters are commonly grouped into 4 blocks based om their shape. The letters in the top row of the key form block Fe, the left and right middle rows are block Thorn and block Rho, and the bottom row is block Wau.
The classical script was the first form to develop, however, after the great cataclysm, it has fallen out of use by most people. The letters are written in syllable blocks. In each syllable blocks, the central character, which is usally the largest, is read first, then followed by tje other characters counterclockwise. There's no strict order on where to place syllable blocks, though on interfaces, the blocks are usually read from left to right. It's still the script of choice when interfacing with brains and high level machines.
The common way it's written today is with each letter isolated, from left to right. This method is most popular in the south pole and the central commonwealth. However, two other methods were developed by other cultures.
The people on the frontier regions of the commonwealth write from right to left instead, with most letters in each word connected in a line. Most letters in the Fe, Thorn and Rho blocks are rotated, though many are still recognizable. The letters in the wau block are often written smaller and above or below the word.
The people from the brainine regions write with letters in each word connected as well, but from top to bottom instead. They don't rotate most of their letters, but letters in the wau block are written smaller and to the left and right of the words they're in.
The sample text in the first passage says "thw quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" in classical form with common form as annotation.
The sample text on the second passage says "the master has failed more times than the beginner has tried. "
The sample text in the last 4 lines says "sample text".
