I feel really stupid about this photo. I think it is a great one but I feel stupid because I didn't realize it was a female cardinal when I saw it in the tree in our back yard! I have seen females before but only their heads as they sat on their nests of eggs. I was surprised she had the red on her wings and tail feathers. That is what threw me off.
