I don't remember who you are, but you changed my life.
Ever since I commissioned my first fursuit I've thought about what- or rather who -introudced me to the furry fandom. It was nearly 10 years ago to the day that I attended my very first convention in 2016, I was a 9 year old and an anime convention was kind of my first exposure to people who were like me. It was the end of the day and we were winding down, when I ran into 2 fursuiters, and I was mesmerized by them. I was so excited and I kept asking questions, which they happily answered, and when I came home all I could draw were anthro animals, which led me to finding them on youtube, which kind of put me where I am now.
I think about that fursuiter a lot, I never got their name, a picture, anything, so all that's left is a memory. So I drew their fursuit from memory, all I can recount is that they were a canine, they made the suit themself, and they had green and brown on them. So this might not be accurate at all. but hey if I accidentally drew your fursona or you just so happened to be at Anime St.Louis in 2016 and recall a really excited 9 year old dressed as Misty from pokemon than I hope you know just how important you were to that 9 year olds life.

OMG I GET THIS SO MUCH (also congrats!!) my first exposure to fursuits was somewhere around the same age 8-10, and i went to the local parade in my town that was about nature and animals. and you can bet the local furs were there every year. i have a distinct memory of making wolf ears out of cardboard, pink paper, grey felt, and gluing it to my baseball cap. while walking in the parade, i heard someone over my shoulder say "i like your ears!"
i looked up to see a polar bear standing next to me. their suit was so lovely and sweet and looked real to my child eyes. i was stunned and in awe and so enormously excited as a little nonhuman thing. what do you mean there are fullbody animal costumes that make you look like a walking talking animal??? it changed my life forever. bless whoever that person was, for complimenting my tiny wolf pup ears and howling with me. im working on my 2nd fursuit now, 20 years later x)

THIS!!! My furry awakening wasn't like a crush (at first, always tribute my "re-awakening" to Battle Beast from Invincible) but it was another fur! every fur i've ever met was super sweet. I remember another one I met around 2 or so years later, he was this big grey wolf, who i told I wanted a fursuit, and he told me to drink lots of water if i did. It's the kinda fur I wanna be.
