Meet Sweets, one of Captain Wayne's crew and is the deckhand alongside Whiskers, who is her Shipmate. Sweets is the most enthusiastic and loyal sea lion who will do any task the Captain gives her, keeping the S.S. Salty clean and to help the Captain and Joules the first mate. Unlike Whiskers, who is a lazy drunkard catfish, and Sweets has to check on him from time to time so he doesn't slack off on the job. But between her and Whiskers, she is much stronger, though not as smart as him. Sweets isn't your Einstein and is, by all means, a bubbleheaded dumbass. Sweets is the brawns, and with Whiskers is the brains and both bring the pain to any poor sucker that gets in their way.

Sweets, Whiskers, and Joules' origins were both cruel and unforgiving, for all of them came from a labatory that they were created in. Sweets original name was " Subject D-092 " and was trapped in water tanks next to " Subject C-211 " who was an catfish hybrid where both talk to and comfort " Subject J-301 " who was an jellyfish hybrid trapped in a bigger water tank cell with wires attached to her and keeping her in place for she was an powersource because of her electric powers. Both her and him indure daily experiments prove to be excruciating, causing a lot of scarring for both of them.

She was the strongest mutant, but she wasn't the most intelligent and more incompetent. Both she and Subject C-211 were going to be euthanized for they both proved to be not very useful and deemed to be expendable, but Subject J-301 saved them both as she couldn't bear to lose them and, in her rage, had broken out of her cell where she killed most of the scientists then all of them ran through the lab to escape out of an window and to the sea below. All of them disappeared into the deep sea and found an underwater cave to hide in.

Only she and the catfish go out to hunt for food, Subject J-301 stays in the cave and refuses to come out due to her fear of being found. Though as the days pass, the jellyfish hybrid's condition begins to deteriorate as the binds around her wrists, ankles and neck had heavily dug deep within her flesh, giving way to infection, causing her to stop eating as a result. She became very sickly, was only skin and bones by the end of it, and she would have been in Davy Jone's locker if not for someone that came to her aid.

One of their hunts ended up stealing fish from the legendary sea captain himself, Captain Wayne, who had followed them back to their cave to discover her in such a sorry state. He first befriended and tamed the seadog, then the catfish himself by feeding them sardines before he checks on her condition and then to bring her back to his ship. He removed her bindings as carefully as possible, cleaned her wounds, and then bandaged her up.

Captain wayne took her and the others back to his adoptive father's home to seek his adoptive father's help, treating her infected wounds, and slowly nursed her back to health. Throughout her recovery, the catfish and seadog kept her company. Captain Wayne was the most close by as he would watch over her throughout the recovery. Eventually, she gained enough healthy weight, and her wounds were healed. When he realized that she and the others didn't have proper names, he'd decide to give them new ones.

Captain Wayne named the jellyfish hybrid " Joules " first, named the seadog " Sweets," and lastly, the catfish was named " Whiskers " for he did had long Whiskers but to his excessive Whisky intake. Captain Wayne saw a lot of potential in all of them, more so with Joules for she did have a great deal of unique abilities, and she was determined to come with him on his sea travels with Whiskers and Sweets alongside her and so the rest is history as they all sailed across the seven and in a half seas together.
