Another commission for
with an idea similar to the one we used for his other wonderful character, Silva. But this time, Prince Borgon (also as a child and as an adult)!
As with Silva, the character's author wrote the backstory, and I'm happy to post it here, but you can also read it under the same piece in his gallery x)
"Many rulers are born, in a sense, with everything "on silver plate," destined simply to inherit the crown their ancestors possessed by birthright.
In the case of Prince Borgon, this was not possible.
His golden eyes have indeed seen Valmeridia at its worst, his beloved castle della Verbena reduced to a sad and gloomy manor, and a large portion of the princedom's subjects now resigned to the idea of never seeing their land return to its former splendor.
More importantly, he couldn't simply be invested with the future office by the previous prince, since no one had held it when he began to take his first steps.
No, from childhood onwards, his destiny was clear and defined: if he wanted the crown, and the duties that came with it, he would have to earn the burden.
The little dragon, though frightened and intimidated by such a prospect, nevertheless felt a deep desire to help that charming land regain its energy and vigor.
And so, under the protective wing of Sir Cordiale and supported by his dear childhood friend Silva, he had worked hard.
The training was tough, and he often injured himself trying to build strength.
Studying was truly mind-numbingly boring at times.
But whenever he felt he couldn't do it, whenever he felt close to giving up, he could always find the support of loved ones who believed in him, and the desire, one day, to turn himself into one of those kind and just princes he read about in fairy tales he used to lull himself to sleep with.
"One day..."the little dragon repeated to himself, to find motivation during Sir Cordiale's lessons.
"One day I'll be strong and wise enough to keep my subjects safe.
And then the monsters that now scare me will stay away from this land.
Yes... I can do it! I'll show everyone that this is where I belong!"
And so he did..."
