"Wendigo" is a term both for the zombie virus and the hallucinations/alter personality that accompany infection once the virus reaches a certain point. All Half-Dead sense the presence of their Wendigo, but each Wendigo manifests before its host in different ways. Some just hear a voice or have sensations. Others have hallucinations. Michael's Wendigo appears before him as a little girl who taunts him and goads his narcissism in unpleasant ways.
