Trying to actively improve my art lately. I like my art and always have, but I don't really wanna stagnate for another ten years. I can learn muscles and stuff thirty minutes at a time.
I did some Studio Ghibli color studies before I did this. I really didn't spend that much time on them but it still helped a ton. Man, do color studies. They're good.
Anyway I did this for fun but the goal is to hide Jacky in pictures and learn to direct the eye around it instead of directly at her, but I'm not allowed to hide her. She has to be right there. I'm hoping it'll teach me about visual pathways and composition and it gives me a goalpost to point at when I go elsewhere to get constructive critique.
A lot of what I did here is actually framing her tho Lol contradicted myself

That's actually a really nice exercise to practice, especially for landscape stuff. Guiding the eye can be really important with art. This came out really nicely, even with the framing "mistake" lol. The first thing my eyes landed on was the tree in the front, the bark is really nicely painted
