Thank you!
She went in for what we thought was an abscess (that we had worked on six months ago) that came back. When she was in surgery it was discovered that it was something else, and it was attached to her spine. My vet didn't think she would wake from the anesthesia, but she is a very strong dog and I stayed with her the entire time, and slept at the clinic with her.
She is recovering pretty good, considering the doctor gave her a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery.

She's only turning seven in September, but she is a backyard breeder special, and her poor body is showing it by early breakdown.
She's my soulmate, and as long as she is pain free and happy, I'll do whatever it takes for her.
But, on a side note, when random people on the street ask me what happened, I tell them she was kidnapped and someone stole her kidneys.

The mornings are the worst for her, she gets really stiff overnight and has a hard time getting mobile again, so we've been double dosing her on the pain meds for the morning. About 45 minutes after I give her the pills she seems a bit more comfortable.
She's still not herself, and we arent in a safe zone yet, but she is doing well.

oh no... I am so sorry to hear that she has been going through all of this Libby. I feel so out of the loop now that I don't visit the forums or facebook.
I am so very happy to hear that she is recovering fairly well after the surgery. I will keep her in my thoughts. Sending good vibes <3
