It may be the Year of the Horse, but Surge doesn't care - tenrecs aren't even on the Chinese Zodiac in the first place, and she only got turned into a gorgon a few months ago, so she's celebrating the Lunar New Year snake-style, darnit! Her snakes got gussied up for it and everything!
Of course, if you insist on telling her that it's not the Year of the Snake anymore, I'm not gonna stop you. Just keep in mind that while she's still trying to get that petrification stare of hers working, she always has her electric powers on-hand. So, uh... maybe put on some rubber gear first if you don't want her to light you up like a whole new kind of Chinese firework.
