:3 saw this AMAZING series of superpower based YCH slots, and saw an opportunity to make an OC

so, the latest addition to our managery of free use characters, Dark Spark.

(we are gonna be researching how to submit these bosos to the creative commons share alike license very soon, im sick of waiting.)

with this character, the goal was to really emphasize some contrast.

cutesy floofy body with rounded shapes, inspired by Arctic Wolf Puppies, contrasted against edgy evil looking powers, complete with black sclara and glowing eyes.

but to that second bit i say... evil to who?

why do we condemn the darkness when it is a friend to us?

does evolutionary instinct and religious dogma need to guide us on for centuries further? do we fear what lingers in shadow until the sun burns out?

the darkness is our gentle blanket that leads us into our good nights sleep. the dark of space is cold, but the dark beneath your blanket is warm and inviting.

i always hated when Darkness was used as a standin for evil itself, we couldnt anthropomorphise hate instead? make rage and vitriol our foe?

of course rituous anger, too, is an ally to us. i wouldnt be dressing this they/she/it cutie in punk attire if i didnt believe that with my fluffin soul, winnow down anything to an evil metaphor and suddenly the anticonvention of that becomes valuable.

i crave the darkness, the taboo, the power that crackles and sparks and hums a dark tone that sings like the moan of the endless abyss.

and, i am baby.

so here we have Dark Spark, an absolute cutie with a yearning for headpats and cuddles, AND the kind of power that brings her closer to the darker facets of the universe.

not in conflict, taken simultaniously.

no wolf in sheeps clothing here, no snake in the grass, she isnt hiding anything and her powers arent a sign of danger.

they will PROTECC with this power, and it will also ATTACC

the darkness is our allmother, the abyss of nothing from which all light therafter went on to decorate, all begins and ends in the dark.

the dark is our friend, this dog is your best friend, and they are both holding hands and kissing on a spiritual and psychological level.

i shoutout cuz i felt like giving Dark Spark the same shirt Somni has, figuring it could be an in universe brand. maybaaah a mascot or band logo or somethin

:3 sheep skulls are just cool, there is no further meaning beyond that, its just baller.

(snuck in some easter eggs to a certain game i love, do look out for those!)
