Even though Mherven lives in a somewhat cold climate, ill-suited for his species in general - with use of clothing, both normal and specialized, he is well able to live a normal life and remain healthy and happy.
He rarely ever leaves his hometown, and it gets pretty darn hot during summer seasons, so most of the time he is able to get away with wearing just regular clothing made of local equivalents of silk and cotton. Leather garments work too, but have to be fairly breathable. Cozy thick sweater will easily keep him warm and an extra quick rinse in a shower a day is a small price to pay for comfort.
But sometimes he still have to venture far from the comfort of home and stay outdoors for longer stretches of time. That's when his peculiar cloak is being brought out of the closet. Despite looking as barely a windbreaker, this cloak is deceptively warm and efficient at keeping a perfect microclimate inside of it.
This clothing is made out of sheets of very rare and hard to make fabric and tailored individually to each customer. Such clothing is incredibly expensive, so Mev has as simple of a variant as possible, and even then it did cost a small fortune. But it is well worth it's price~
