In Maine I've seen snowtracks, skidders, and even an old Brit 'Bren' carrier used in such a manner. Best one ever though was a forklift that was holdin' the porch-roof up. On a trailer, of course. The forktruck was rusted to hell, and had been a stanchion fer years...
