Mantocores are close relatives of centaurs in Prince of Gold.

Manticores are sapient solitary predators who live in the dense forests of the southern continent where they are the apex predator. They are fond of preying on darkblood centaurs and firedrake calves. They can use earth magic to manipulate the terrain of their home territories. Manticores are known for weaving the poisonous quills of wyverns into the long hair on their tails. Manticores cannot fly but young ones can glide. Their wings are more for display purposes in either attracting mates or scaring off other predators when young.
